Physics graduate Moira first pursued a career as an audiologist, obtaining a Masters in clinical audiology before working for over eleven years as audiological scientist in the NHS.
She then qualified as a solicitor. After completing her training with Davies Arnold Cooper (now DAC Beachcroft ) – one of the top defendant firms – Moira spent 12 years working firstly for Jack Thornley and Partners and then for Whittles, representing trade union members who had suffered injuries or illnesses during the course of their employment. She dealt with multi-track accident and industrial disease claims.
Moira has wide experience of claims relating to Vibration White Finger, deafness, dermatitis, asthma, as well as work related upper limb disorders and repetitive strain cases linked with manual handling. She has a special interest in asbestos related claims and gained experience in this during her time at Birchall Blackburn, where she was a partner in the industrial disease team. She is well known for her empathy and sensitivity in dealing with her often vulnerable clients.
At Citadel Law Moira brings her unique experience to bear across the full range of industrial disease work, in particular on cases related to noise induced hearing loss.
